One of my most hoped-for wishes is to help others, to connect with others, to bring people together.  For years I wrote an anonymous blog about my struggle with migraine disease, and eventually I shared my writing with friends and family. Since then, I’ve transferred my blog to a site called Migraine.com, where I’m now a featured writer.
And the coolest things are happening.  More people than ever are talking about this debilitating disease. More people are learning about how and why they get these recurring headaches. And more people are reading my posts about what once seemed like the strangest things—I mean, scalp pain?—and responding like crazy. We are not alone, they seem to cry.  We are in this together.  This strange sickness, this lonely and isolating disease, complete with all its frustrating intricacies and rare blessings, is not mine to bear alone.  And it feels really good and heartwarming and heartbreaking all at once.
